Transmission Studio opened in Summer 2009 by Phil and Vera Lucero of Phil Lucero Productions.
Transmission Studio is a new facility and name for our company, but the principals have been working together since the early 90’s on all types of corporate and broadcast video production. Our producers, directors and production staff have worked for just about every major television network including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, ESPN, MTV, CBC, FUJI TV and more documenting news, politics, sports and entertainment around the world. It’s this experience both in the field and in the edit bay that is our greatest asset. We plan and execute professionally and efficiently so that the process is streamlined and no time or money is wasted. We understand on time and on budget and have proven over and over our ability and ambition to produce only outstanding narrative video to fit our client’s needs. Collectively, we’ve produced over a thousand programs and are at the ready for any type of production, striving for the highest creative and technical quality.
My video and film career began at an early age as the high school photographer and videographer in the early 80s. Back then Ektachrome was the film of choice and I would process my photographs by hand in a darkroom. The very large VHS video camera came with a separate recording deck that I lugged to all the games both home and away. Unknowingly, I was setting myself up, with this early passion, for a future in film and television. Flash forward 30 years and I still lug a very large camera around to games. Only now it’s for the Denver Broncos or Colorado Avalanche. Instead of the school band or class president, I get to capture interviews with famous rock stars, shoot commercials in exotic places and stand on the same stage as the president of the United States and record history. I’m fortunate to have found this passion and turned it into a career.
Transmission Studio is the outcome of that experience. With the strong desire to build my company and create new, challenging opportunities I opened the studio in August 2009. I felt it was necessary to continue to provide more and better acquisition and post-production services to our clients and a larger creative space would allow this. Moreover, I wanted to have a place that other artists like us, could use and thrive in. The studio comes complete with state of the art broadcast equipment from Sony, Panasonic, Apple, Arri, Sennheiser and more so that our clients can feel assured that they are getting extraordinary support for every situation. And with a crack team of writers, directors, producers, cameramen, editors and animators, I’ve surrounded myself with world-class talent, because I know that every project is only as good as the people behind it.

I started as a kid following my father around pulling cables, setting up lights, lugging gear and making sure the audio levels didn’t peak. In high school I started experimenting with still and video photography, using equipment from the 70’s and evolving with the technology through my college years. Before I finished school I had worked on over 150 different television programs from school lectures to extreme skiing shows. I have managed production crews ranging in size from 1 to 30. I have worked in motorsports (NASCAR, CART), fishing (saltwater and fresh), corporate television of every budget range, action sports, high school sports, sports medicine, medicine, music, science, news broadcasting, and education. I am the full service run and gun producer, shooter and editor for all electronic mediums, from HDTV broadcast to Internet. I get technology and new media and have the tools available to deliver anything a client throws at me. I enjoy snowboarding, the outdoors, cooking, music, DJing, and my family.

I started out doing more stuff in front of the camera (and on stage) than behind the camera. Graduating from The Second City Conservatory in Chicago, I went on to perform in several sketch comedy and improv shows along with commercials and films in Chicago and Los Angeles. From Los Angeles, I did a complete 180 and landed in Steamboat Springs, CO where I hosted a morning show for Outside Television affiliate, TV18 called, what else, Steamboat Today. Along with hosting, I wrote, produced, directed and edited local shows such as Explore Steamboat, a dining show and real estate show. I’m currently one of the hosts for The Buzz, a national show for Outside Television. Basically, I enjoy the creative process. I enjoy working with a team to accomplish something we’re all proud of. My specialties lie in writing, New Media, commercials and industrials.

Corey Lucero
I’ve always had a passion for creating video and telling stories. I began studying video production at Frostburg State University in western Maryland. While I was there, I took on many editing and filming projects such as TV shows, Documentaries, short Films, Promotional videos, live performances, College sporting events and extreme sports videos. I love all aspects of creating high quality video, but I would consider editing to be my strongest skill. Spending hours on end in front of a Mac with Final Cut Pro running is what my dreams are made of. I love technology and the outdoors; I am an avid snowboarder, and a Professional Freeborder.
